Obstetric Care at Bloom OBGYN and Midwifery
At Bloom, obstetric care is evidence-based with a strong focus on safety, clinical excellence, and continuity of care. Patients receive care from either our physician or our certified nurse midwives, depending on clinical needs and preferences, with seamless collaboration and shared clinical oversight throughout pregnancy and birth.
This model allows for individualized care while ensuring medical expertise is readily available when higher-risk management or surgical intervention is indicated.
Comprehensive Pregnancy Care
Our obstetric services include:
- Preconception counseling
- Routine and high-risk prenatal care
- Diagnosis and management of pregnancy-related conditions
- Labor and delivery management in the hospital
- Postpartum care and follow-up
All patients receive ongoing risk assessment, with care plans adjusted as clinical needs evolve
High-Risk Pregnancy Management
Our physician provides direct management of medical, obstetric, and pregnancy-related complications, including:
- Hypertensive disorders of pregnancy
- Gestational and pre-existing diabetes
- Multiple gestation
- Prior cesarean birth
- Advanced maternal age
- Fetal growth, placental, or amniotic fluid abnormalities
Midwives remain actively involved in patient care, supporting education, monitoring, and continuity, while physician oversight ensures appropriate escalation and intervention when indicated.
Collaboration With Maternal–Fetal Medicine (MFM)
When specialized care is required, our providers co-manage pregnancies with Maternal–Fetal Medicine specialists.
This collaboration provides access to advanced imaging, fetal assessment, and subspecialty consultation, while maintaining continuity of care within our practice. We work closely with MFM providers to coordinate recommendations, monitor progress, and plan delivery when higher-risk conditions are present.
Cesarean Birth and Surgical Obstetrics
When a cesarean birth is medically indicated, our physician performs hospital-based deliveries using evidence-based surgical practices.
Patients receive thorough counseling regarding indications, risks, and recovery.
Continuity of Care
Our certified nurse midwives remain actively involved before, during, and after surgery, ensuring support regardless of birth method.
Deliveries
Deliveries are performed at the Toppel Family Place, the maternity wing of the Boca Raton Regional Hospital, the premier maternity hospital in South Florida.
